Reflecting on Spirit
August 12th, 2010I recently celebrated the graduation of both my sons. One from College and the other high school. A milestone for them as well as myself. The energy applied to meet their goals, the drive, perseverance and focus required still leaves me in awe of their abilities. But as they reach this stage in their life I find myself even more proud of who they are as individuals, the core being that shouts kindness, moral strength and alot of faith that made each of them who they are today. So I ask myself where did these ideals come from and I reflect on spiritual teachings, applying spiritual principles and setting high morals and goals for personal behavior and beliefs. This is only one reason why, I know the value of following your Spirit and Not your Ego.
So moms and dads, remember when your are raising your children do the best you can to raise them in spirit. You are not responsible for someone elses actions but you can make a difference with your own true spirit.

EGO GIVES A PERSON THE SPIRIT OF GOING AHEAD OF OTHERS TO SHOW OFF ALL THE THINGS HE HAS WHICH THE OTHERS DONT. SO IN LIFE EGO & SPIRIT GO HAND IN HAND. YOU MAY GIVE A FEW THOUSANDS TO THE POOR. WHAT WILL THEY EAT AFTER YOUE MONEY IS OVER. ON THE OTHER THE INDUSTRIALIST WITH 500 WORKERS GIVES THEM THE DIGNITY OF EARNING THEIR MONEY NOT THRU BEGGARY BUT WITH HONOUR.
THE INDUSTRIALIST ON THE OTHER HAND IS FULL OF EGO & SPIRIT TO GO EVEN MORE FORWARD WITH JOINT VENTURES WITH FORIEGN COS., TRAVELS 1ST CLASS, STAYS IN THE BEST HOTELS. EVEN THE GITA SAYS CORRECTLY THAT SUCH MEN EVEN IF THEY DO NOT EVEN BELIEVE IN GOD ARE NOT TO BE DISTURBED IN THEIR WORK.
KRISHNA TO ARJUN”ALL WORK IN ITS ENTIRETY CULMINATES IN KNOWLEDGE O PARTHA”
We all have Ego and Spirit my point in “Reflecting on Spirit” is to recognize the importance of raising our children to see with their spirit and lead with their spirit not their Ego. If you drive with the Ego your motives can become greedy, self centered, etc. you must remember and lead from a place of giving and sharing.
In your example of the industrialist giving to the poor, that is a spirit action, as well as the industrialist who provides jobs for those same people. The fact that the industrialist has money and a business does not make him egotistical its how he uses it that makes the difference.
