Have you noticed that times are changing slowly but steadily. I see more jobs available on line and on store windows. Back in December stores reported sales were up. Homes in my area are selling but again it is taking longer than it ever had before.

For years we heard talk about the end of the world in 2012, I believe it may be the end of the world as we know it but the beginning of a new era- Now is the Time for Change. We are forced into changing, local economies, our home budgets, the way we search for jobs and pursue employment, companies taking away some benefits, all of these issues put a tremendous stress on families and force us to change our spending, modify our expectations therefore humbling our minds our spirits to deal with the reality of our new way of life.

If you are still in the denial zone, anger zone and not accepting whatever change it is you are personally dealing with your road will be longer. We must humble ourselves and face the facts of our individual situations and begin progressing towards healing, towards faith, towards peace in our hearts, body and minds.

So day by day, moment by moment take the time to notice what is going on around you. Be aware of your blessings and be grateful for them. Allow your reality to teach you how to exist in a positive frame of mind.

“Celebrate all that is Good and Blessed about your life, realizing that Gratitude is a powerful remedy. Appreciating your blessings increases the vitality of your life force.”

I recently celebrated the graduation of both my sons. One from College and the other high school. A milestone for them as well as myself. The energy applied to meet their goals, the drive, perseverance and focus required still leaves me in awe of their abilities. But as they reach this stage in their life I find myself even more proud of who they are as individuals, the core being that shouts kindness, moral strength and alot of faith that made each of them who they are today. So I ask myself where did these ideals come from and I reflect on spiritual teachings, applying spiritual principles and setting high morals and goals for personal behavior and beliefs. This is only one reason why, I know the value of following your Spirit and Not your Ego.

So moms and dads, remember when your are raising your children do the best you can to raise them in spirit. You are not responsible for someone elses actions but you can make a difference with your own true spirit.

Do you think about your actions, words or thoughts before you react to situations or conversations? Do you ask yourself if I did “that”, or said “that” or think “that” what does “that” say about me? Do you consider how your actions, thoughts and conversations affect others?

I believe ones response comes from a place of either Spirit or Ego. While a Spirit response promotes positive loving energy for you as well as others it’s counterpart an Ego action promotes the opposite, negativity, selfishness, for you and others.

Remember the time you spread gossip about someone else and you felt badly about it afterwards, or perhaps you didn’t feel badly but discovered someone else was speaking unkindly about you, perpetuating the negative energy of hurting others feelings. Perhaps you secretly held jealous feelings towards someone so everytime you came in contact with them those feelings permeated the energy around you making it difficult to see the positive parts of this person. These are examples of everyday behaviors that circle the earth penetrating relationships with unhealthy results.

The antidote react, hold thoughts and speak from a Spirit base zone. Stop any negativity and replace it with a positive energy. When you hold jealous thoughts ask your self how to work on your own life to obtain those things that you desire without pushing your jealous energy onto others. Their life, their possessions are not yours. Before you spread gossip ask yourself how you would feel if someone was speaking about you the same way. Even if you think that what you are saying is true why would you want to hurt someone else or put negative energy into the world- you know that saying “what goes around comes around” well if people know you like to gossip you just invited yourself into the circle of negativity. Don’t gossip about others at least you will not be participating in useless acts that can create painful results. Rise above and take the Spirit route. Follow the Golden Rule.

Bullying can be in the form of verbal, physical or emotional abuse and typically is persistently occurring against another weaker individual who doesn’t have the power to stop the perpetrator. The victim may seek out help and guidance from peers, or an adult if they are a child and often times is turned away with remarks like “learn how to take criticism”. It is my opinion that all people have the duty to follow the Golden Rule “Do to others as you would have them do to you” Luke 6:31 (NIV)

Think about how you would feel going to school every single day being tormented by some of your peers, attempting to seek guidance and support from an adult who either doesn’t understand the effect this is having on you, or simply doesn’t want to be involved, or perhaps doesn’t know what to do to help. You would feel like you are fighting an uphill battle, not knowing where to turn.

I read an article yesterday about a young beautiful girl who committed suicide because she was being threatened and tormented by classmates, she tried to get help but obviously it wasn’t enough or in time- knowing this we all must put an end to bullying by understanding when it is happening, learn how to support the victim and teach the bullies alternative actions and basic social skills.

As parents, uncles, aunts ,grandparents we all have a responsibility to teach ourselves and others; research the definition of bullying, seek guidance for those who are facing these issues. It is my belief that a combination of faith, spirit principles, moral values, and self esteem are the foundation for putting and end to this behavior. Everyone has a duty to get the ball rolling and act on mending the situation, stop the bullying behavior, support the victim and seek help for the bully.

Remember when you are witnessing this behavior, act: counseling, communication and active participation in the childs life immediately rather than waiting for the problem to escalate or excusing the behavior. Seek out the support you need to resolve the issues, repair the childs self esteem and put into place positive social skills. A little faith and spirit doesn’t hurt either!

Discovering ones spiritual beliefs is often times a blind journey. Many times we go through our lives not realizing that from the day we were born we are embarking on developing the human soul spirit and the power that faith holds for us as individuals and the world as a whole. We get so caught up dealing with issues of the ego such as jealousy, greed, and many others that sometimes our focus turns into surviving the challenges and nurturing our own self esteem.

For some of us the answer for personal growth dawns on us like a lightbulb going off in our hearts and minds and we transform our thoughts and spiritual practies otherwise known as a “spiritual awakening.”We begin to evolve and create Spiritual wisdom - a process of understanding, living with spirit principles, nurturing your spiritual faith and above all truly believing.

Each and everyone of us has the power, the ability to practice our faith, our spiritual beliefs. I have found in my life that my spiritual wisdom has brought me through many difficult and painful events. Grief, jealousy, greed these are issues that most of us are either on the receiving end of or the perpetrator of. I have found my own personal growth, spiritual wisdom and self esteem to grow leaps and bounds enabling me to overcome these issues and nurture my own spirituality beyond my imagination by applying my spiritual principles and nurturing my faith through prayer and meditation.

The other day for the first time I tried a Reiki treatment, I had no idea the benefits of my one healing session. I have always been the type of person who wanted to help others, (the healer in me) many mothers carry that character trait but being a sensitive person I found that I couldnt shake off the negative energy that had built up over the years and hanging on to me like dead weight. And then I went for Reiki, I feel cleared of that energy, renewed and lightened. I am always in search of and open to nurturing my soul, my faith and my mind. Learning, developing and practicing a spiritual life will carry you through with peace and love.

Spring is a time of new beginnings. God’s gift to us to rejuvenate ourselves with positive thoughts and spiritual actions. To basque in the glory of life and love- focussing on the joy in life, love in your heart, friendships. Let go of the old negative thought patterns and renew your spirit. Meditating, praying, spending time in nature are all fabulous avenues to nurture your spirit.

Spring is a great time to revisit your moral code, goals and spiritual awareness. Take the time to think about what your morals and goals are in terms of important issues, such as honesty, commitment, integrity and loyalty. Write down your thoughts, level of importance to you, maybe why you feel the way you do, perhaps its time to reevaluate with a spiritual perspective, remembering the value and the effect you have on others.

In Her new book, "Who's Real, What Matters", Pat Cavaliere guides you through a set of principles that will help you on the road to living life from a spiritual perspective rathe than egotistical.

Have you ever wondered what the term “Spirituality” meant or how to be more spiritual and why would you want to? Do you ever think about different religions and find yourself searching for answers to questions and still feel confused?

My objective with this blog is to stimulate spiritual thoughts that focus on living your life now from a perspective that comes from love, faith and a deeper understanding of a higher power creating your own spiritual awareness. I believe in order to do that you need to move away from actions, and thoughts that are derived from the Ego and put your energy into fostering Spirit behavior. Spirit behavior comes from understanding Spirit, researching spiritual matters, believing in a higher power and applying spirit principles to your actions, thoughts and choices. This foundation combined with morals will start you on a path towards living from your Spirit rather than your Ego.
